A Ballon Ride!

Ballon Ride

My friend Laura is in Town. And these have been days of activities to show her around. During the day she is doing all these sort of activities like walks in Singapore; museums; bike rides; boat rides; shopping; swimming; etc etc te. (Basically all you cannot do because you work in the best part of the day to do all these things)

However we meet at lunchtime and yesterday we decided to go on a Hot Air Balloon Ride. It is sponsored by DHL and we took some pictures (see above). Cute experience and it made up for the FIASCO we went through a couple of years ago (2001). She had won a Hot Air Baloon ride in Toronto. We planned on going together; emailed about it; talked on the phone about it; and when she came to Toronto from Montréal for the Balloon thing… due to weather conditions it was CANCEKLLED! Bummer and it has been since then the FIASCO of the Hot Air Balloon ride.

Laura, guess what!?. CHECKED!! Let’s cross it out of our list, OK? What’s next… I wish we could go to Phuket together with Sonia and melissa on a weekend!

I guess we will be able to cross that off our list on MON! CANNOT wait to be on the beach…

Special picture
I truly believe the office building I work in is one of the most gorgeous buildings in town. Here’s a set of pictures I took from the air.

Our Office

COME ON! It is a GREAT looking building!... it has a GOTHAM CITY look to it, doesn’t it?

Click and write your name...

A fun mini game… just type your name and wait a couple of seconds.

What do you think?

factory

It is hard to imagine the struggles some people go through in life with labour exploitation; poor quality working conditions; extremely low salaries; etc; etc; etc

On another note, working on some eLearning projects made me reconfirm how important EXPERIENTIAL ACTIVITES are for the true understanding of issues and assimilation of knowledge. It certainly makes that CLICK in your head that enables you understanding and making that piece of information part of your knowledge.

Putting these two things together, I would like to share a web that my friend Cheryl suggested me visiting. Play for a little while; have fun; and then think…

Nodding... nodding... nodding..

…and you see them around, nodding their heads, annoyingly. Looking at you in a constant sign of disapproval. Sad little pieces of crap created maybe in Hong Kong or Taiwan (where all these “Made in…” things are made in anyway).

For S$15 you can also have one, sitting on your desk nodding at you. As if one didn’t have enough nodding in life, right?. Then you go and buy artificial nodding to train yourself on how to accept the real nodding when they come.

Thanks to some colleagues who receive a couple of these and gave me one as a “present” (KS. from AL.). Now that I think about it, I do not know if they like me or hate me to bits! Bit***! :)

Nodding... nodding... nodding..

There is one good thing: they do not consume batteries as they are sunlight powered!

First time.. first video!

Testing, testing if this video thing works or not . This is the first video I upload. However, if this works my drae reader… get ready as my blog will fly a little higher/crazier and will start showing some fun videos as well.

First video
Singapore National Day fireworks as seen from the window of our livingroom at the 15th floor. (I zoomed and it did not came out quite clear however it is a great view)

Enjoy!

NERD, but useful! (I think...)

adobe Clip

I have just received this piece of information regarding Adobe Acrobat Reader. I know it is a sort of NERDY posting, but at the same time I feel it is a cool feature that has been brought up to my attention (thanks Larsito!)

Piece of news: you can listen to any PDF instead of reading with Adobe Reader Version 7.0 or Version 6.0:

  • Ctrl+Shift+b - to Listen to the entire Document
  • Ctrl+Shift+v - to Listen to the Page
  • Ctrl+Shift+c - to Resume
  • Ctrl+Shift+e - to Stop

Try… try and tell us what you think.

Pre National Day celebrations...

SND

AUG 9th is Singapore National Day. Therefore, AUG 8th at night we could stay up late… these are the little perks of life (sad sad ain’t it?). Anyway, we invited a couple of friends at home to play some board games and sing Karaoke.

Enjoyable night, discovering hidden talent and laughing-drinking until late into AUG 9th.

HAPPY NATIONAL DAY, SINGAPORE!

Cooking your brain...

Weird experiment, and I do not know if it is true. However, out of curiosity I would give it a try.

2 really bored Russians cooked their eggs with their mobile phones!!!!! If you ever get caught in the situation whereby you have to cook your egg but you are not nearby an oven or microwave this may help you!

M3

1) Assemble the stuff as above. Call mobile A with mobile B.
2) Keep both mobile phones connected.
3) 15 minutes later: Egg warms. up.
4) 25 minutes later: Egg is hot.
5) 40 minutes later: Egg is super hot.
6) 65 minutes later: Egg is cooked.

M4

Cool, isnt it?? So watch out for that little brain of yours when you use your mobile; and guys, let's try not to put our mobile phone in your pockets (or your balls may gets fried).

(Thanks Audi for your friend's post. I replicated it in my blog. I found it very funny!)
