Fate and future...

AMAZING ticket

Note: this is the scanned image of an authentic ticket for the soccer game Germany-Argentina TOMORROW!

AY AY AY MAMA MIA! I guess it is a TRAGEDY… something that will be remembered forever!

I work for a company that is owned by a German group. This company has clients all over the world and some of the corporate gifts these past weeks were free tickets to the World Soccer Tournment, great seats, great games, even tickets to the final game!. Today, a colleague of mine, received 2 of these tickets back, because the company he had given them to could not send anyone.

Here he is. German Soccer team fan; sitting at his desk; desperately looking for an air ticket that would fly him to this “once in a lifetime” game but no airline has any available seats.

I feel his pain and I think the least I can do is offer him my comforting words and thoughts. I told him I believe this is fate. He is not supposed to attend to this programme as people are already commenting on the result…

GERY VS ARGI

MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

(Disclaimer; I do not care about soccer and I am world-known for knowing nothing about this sport. And I think this makes my comments even funnier!!!!)

eSoccer

ARGI MEXI

I reinvented the way of watching soccer. I am proud. And I am proud for two main reasons:
I am actually watching soccer
I am sharing it with my friends back home on the spot

So how? Well, you basically set up the living room of your house as if was a communication centre.
- Turn on the TV and set it in the Sports Channel (if you have that option with your local cablecompany, otherwise you may want to steal some loose signal from somewhere)
- Get an extra large mug of coffee (in Asia the games start at 3 AM…&*%*%$&%@)
- Get yourself a Bluetooth headset-Microphone and a webcam
- Get your computer in the living room and open your MSN, Yahoo and Skype
omment the game as it happens with your friends who have set their own homes in the same manner
- When the goal happens: you call them and scream the goal with them

GREAT GAME! I think I never ever had so much fun with a game as I did with tis one. In fact, I think this is the first soccer game I watch entirely (from the minute o to the minute 90) in a very good time.

GERMANY… here we come!

Note: one of my flat mates is German. He is currently having fun with all his other German (and German-Korean) friends; see previous post. Let’s see if they would like to join me on 30th after the game to share with me the happiness of our victory against the Deutschland

GOOOOOLLLLLL!!!!! Argentina 2, Germany 1!

While it lasts.

The Germans

Things should be enjoyed while they last. Congrats My German Friends… just for now…

Personal Art Deco & nostalgic message

lamps

Modern and old blended into a new style. A nice current cliché, seems easy to put it off, but lemme tell you… nah ah! It ain’t easy.

We once had people in this apartment who told us “that lamp is a piece of sh**, where the hell did you get it from?” And quite rightfully it did not match anything… so it ended up in Devrim’s room. Then the bulb did not work anymore, people got lazy so as to change it, and stayed there… sitting alone… collecting dust at the corner of the room... abandoned. Sadly abandoned.

Time passed by, people came, people went and the lamp survived. Like Phoenix. Today, it is the proud main character of a nice stylish corner at our apartment together with a beautiful wooden hand made Kenyan craft (thanks Pilli) and a German colonial style candle lamp (thanks Andi).

Style is an attitude!

(PS: For those who though and told us this lamp was a piece of sh** I have a couple of words for you: &^$&@#%&^%*&&$%@!!)

Speaking of our apartment, this is the view from our living room window during the day… and during the night….

Consulting Skills: Life Analysis

Tough Life Analisys

- Do you want to go for Lunch tomorrow?
- OK, let’s meet at 12.30

Naïve question to invite a friend who works close by to my office. We met at this great Asian fusion resto 2 blocks away from my office (d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s!)

- Hi. How are you doing? Bla bla bla
- Bla bla bla

In less than 10 minutes we were talking about “deep shit”: personal information; career growth; family; relationships; etc etc, etc.

It is amazing how we all face the same challenges but in different ways. How we all prioritize in a different manner; not better or worse: just different.

I took a paper napkin and wrote what I thought were the main challenges for my friend and organized them in THINGS TO SOLVE in the SHORT, MIDDLE and LONG term. The graphic looked somehow like this.

Life analysis

How much simpler things are when you take an outside perspective. Being a Life Consultant for others... Don't you wish you could do the same thing , but with YOUR VERY OWN LIFE as the subject. I will try. I will share the graphic too!

6-0 (Partidaaaaazo!)

6-0

Whoever knows me at least a little would know that, although my passport says I am from Argentina, I really do not like soccer much. (OK, I do not like it at all). However, I have to confess that, I do not know if it is because I have been overseas for 2 1/2 years now, but I really FEEL this World Soccer Cup. For a moment while watching the match, I felt like sitting in the living room at my dad's place sharing the game with my family.

VAMOS ARGENTINA, CARAJO!!!
(I even wore the Argentina soccer team shirt... this is too much! I do not know myself anymore) :)

WHY?! Do you really wonder why?

Well, it is apassion, soccer is a MAD PASSION in Argentina. Everything revolves around soccer especially in these times of the World Cup. I am not in my country, but having been there for a good while I can imagine the crazyness, and the adds on TV, the covers of the magazines, the menus at the local restaurants, the promotions, the fashion, E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G!

If Argentina gets to the final, the day of the game will probably a holiday and people will be able to take it off work/university to watch the game at home. Yes, THAT crazy, OK!?

On that note, there are some local magazines that engage some local celebrities into special photo sessions. This is one that happened in 2002.

Viva Argentina

Do you still wonder why men are crazy about soccer down there?

Comment: her name is Pamela David. She was in a reality TV show; she became quite famous – for 2 obvious reasons. She is a psychologist (believe it or not). She was born in 1978 in a province called Santiago del estero (middle of the country) She used to be a little chubbier recent pictures of her show there is nothing chubby about her lately. I do not have her mobile number, sorry.

AS if I hadn't had enough...

nacholibre

… now they created a movie that will most certainly help the reputation of this name reaching new heights. Great! :(

AY AY AY… IGNACIO is such a nice name in Spanish. Sophisticated and charming, smart and very contemporary.
Disclaimer: it does not necessarily mean the people called Ignacio are like that, but the name is.

Meaning: he who is passionate (ardiente)
Origin: Latin
Most likely personal atributes: He is extroverted, anxious and very observant. He is independent but at the same time he needs to have his affections near him. He is perseverant and responsible. It has a great sense of humor and he is of strong character
Love: Likes to be able to handle the situations in his relationships. Affectionate, romantic and loving
Name Day Celebration: July 31st (Saint Ignacio).

NACHO LIBRE. Is it a combination of CUBA LIBRE and NACHO MAN? I do not know. It does not seem like a movie that will go for the Oscars though.

Why? Why Nacho Libre?. Could not they have chosen other names, like CACHO LIBRE; BETO LIBRE; HUGO LIBRE? No… bastardizing my nickname! AY AY AY

Words for a Friend

This is a very special message. A beloved friend of mine, at 4 ½ months of pregnancy, unexpectedly lost her baby. There are not many words to say in situations like this, but I found a phrase that I would like to share and dedicate to her.

Love Message

MBM R.I.P

(Although probably do not know my AIESEC friend personally, please feel free to leave your comments here. I am sure if she reads this posting she will appreciate your kind words and support. Thanks!)

eFashion Resources

ties

Shared service for all my fellow co-workers at an office environment.

Having been in Asia for over 2 years I have to openly say I have seen some atrocious crimes to Fashion. In my country these things may be even considered public offenses and would buy you a ticket to social confinement or isolation.

On that note I would like to share 2 simple and fun resources with my dear readers in need of some Fashion Emergency support.

Lazy?
Do you leave your tie with the pre-made knot so you do not have to go through the "process" every morning?
BIG NO-NO in fashion for it ruins the silk of your tie and it wrinkles it beyond imagination.
Solution
click here for a complete list of knots and HOW to tie them. Practice in front of the mirror and … GOOD SHOW!

Colour blind?
Do you have problems identifying the right shirt for the right tie with the right pair of pants or jacket?
(Note: do not tell me “What’s right – What’s wrong?” OK? That’s SHIT! I CAN tell you: you have a green tie over an orange shirt? That’s fucking wrong buddy! Who would have an orange shirt anyway!!! Do yourself a favour and burn both the ugly tie, and the ridiculous shirt NOW!!
Do people give you the “what the fuck are you wearing, buddy?” look when you walk into the office in the morning?
Does it bother you? Would you like to practice a little on line?
Have fun!

This is all for now. For more information on the matter please do not hesitate to contact me or leave your comment. Thankyouverymuch!
