Me too... me too!!

new bed

Why not!? Some people blog about their apartments, beds and furniture. Now it is my turn. I did not go to Rawa this weekend and decided to have a quiet “do nothing” sort of weekend. Going around some shopping malls (nasty thing to do in Singapore, especially if you are broke)
I wanted to change the bed sheets for something more FUN, like green or something (currently they were dark blue). I went into this store and I saw a whole new world of sheets and quilt covers.

I decided to buy some very cool set, sort of “Japanese look”, after all I spend (invest) quite a good chunk of time in bed, so it is “ok” to go for it. (Nice way of justifying the expense, right?)

Please find above picture of the current look of my bedroom with the new set of quit cover, bed sheets, pillow cases and bolster (AKA Mc Kormic… so called by some other people)

I tell you… I have been sleeping like a baby! Cool huh?!

The Piramyds and Athens are missing now.

This morning I woke up at 5.45 to do somethingI think everyone must do in life.

September 2 2005: I visited the Taj Mahal!!!!

I was in Agra and after an intense and rewarding night I decided I would wake up that early to go and see this landmark on Earth. ASTONISHING! There are no words to describe how uniquely pretty, detailed and magical this building is. I decided i will simply share some pictures.

Crossed from the list:
- Great Wall of China
- Taj Mahal

Still in the list:
- The Piramyds
- Athens

Llegaron los Alfajores!

Alfajores

A piece of heaven is now in a simple plastic bag, resting close to my desk after a long trip from South America to Asia, looking at me mischievously! A piece of my country, a piece of my childhood, teenage years… and also University times as well: the ALFAJORES.

Pronounced ALFA (as in the Greek letter) and WHORES (as in, you know… whores), it is basically a snack we Argentine people use to eat at all time from breakfast, to mid-morning, afternoon tea and even desert. It’s round shaped and comprised of two dough cookies stuck together by a very special and creamy filling of Dulce de Leche (milk jam). To top it all: it is usually all covered with chocolate. I tell you: heaven in a snack!

I had never realized how much I missed them until Nicoline naively told me:
- “My parents are coming from Argentina in a couple of weeks. Is there anything you would like them to bring you over here?” and they AUTOMATICALLY popped in my mind.
- “Really?!” I asked with sparkling shinny eyes.
- “Sure, no problem”

Here they are… and soon disappearing. I have to confess: only 6 hours have passed since she gave them to me and I have eaten 5 already… I should better stop.

VIVAN LOS ALFAJORES, CARAJO!!

(MUCHAS GRACIAS, NICOLINE! Today is one of the happiest days here in Singapore!)
