Happy Meal...

Italian meal

Well, not only in Mc Donald’s will you have a happy meal. I chose an Italian restaurant to have lunch with some friends. Being Argentine, having lunch in an Italian restaurant, on July 5th, after last night’s game… well I guess it brings a certain inexplicable stupid sense of comfort and reward. PLUS, we all know how good a plate full of BOLOGNESE RAVIOLI could be.

Mmmmm…

PROST… oops... I mean… SALUTE!

  • This is exactly the big difference between people from germany and Argentina:

    Although I am sad that we lost, I am still enjoying Italian food and I am glad for them that they won. And now I hope that they win the world cup, because I like them although they kicked us out (and it was a bit of luck in the 119th minute).

    The people in Argentina (ok, this is very generalistic and I guess there will be 2 or 3 exceptions) cannot loose....they are not sad, but angry that somebody is better than they are (at least on that day - or let's use your words: were more lucky on that day, but that is soccer). Then they get aggressive (just to link up with the other comment in the posting: there was NO verbal provocation of a German player!) and then they do not like the other team anymore! You do not wish the other team luck...probably most of the people buy voodoo things then!

    This I call a bad loser!

    But anyway...Nacho, if you like, we can go for a Argentian steak, an Italian pizza or a German Beer....I still like you :-)

    OH! I SEE!!?? Soccer!?

    Are you still hung up on that issue? OH MY!.

    World Soccer cup should be over for Argentina by now and I guess they moved on. So maybe we can just talk again in the next world cup. Hopefully, penalties will not be the decisive factor on the match and we could evaluate the “BEST TEAM” rather than the “LUCKIEST ONE”.

    To prove you I am OK with this whole r-i-d-i-c-u-l-o-u-s thing I will go with you to PAULANA on a SUN morning to celebrate International Friendship between Germany and Argentina; I will take a picture and blog about it too! :)

  • ... or to prove your point maybe.. and I say only MAYBE, if Portugal wins over germany, we can arrange for a nice ITALIAN dinner at home with PORTO wine and we invite the Portu-friends we have over?. How about that!

  • hahahaha...ok!

    1.) Paulaner - this we will do! Shall we wait for the weekend when Digs is here as well, then we have a bigger group!

    2.) Dinner with the Portugese: yes, we can do it! ...but can we do it the other way around as well? (i.e. if we will win, we have German sausages together with them???)

    3.) calculate this:
    1954 (1st time Germany won the cup) - 1974 (2nd time Germany won the Cup) - 1990 (3rd time) = -2010

    This tells us: 2010 Germany will win, and then maybe Argentina will be second :-)

    I am waiting for the incredible breakfast brunch at the Paulnaer with you :-)

    2. Dinner with Portuguese ones if they loose. I do not think that will happen (not because of me… I tell you what: YOU invite them!)

    3. That progression does not have the proper logic and therefore I think it is wrong. (Good luck though!)
