Personal Art Deco & nostalgic message

lamps

Modern and old blended into a new style. A nice current cliché, seems easy to put it off, but lemme tell you… nah ah! It ain’t easy.

We once had people in this apartment who told us “that lamp is a piece of sh**, where the hell did you get it from?” And quite rightfully it did not match anything… so it ended up in Devrim’s room. Then the bulb did not work anymore, people got lazy so as to change it, and stayed there… sitting alone… collecting dust at the corner of the room... abandoned. Sadly abandoned.

Time passed by, people came, people went and the lamp survived. Like Phoenix. Today, it is the proud main character of a nice stylish corner at our apartment together with a beautiful wooden hand made Kenyan craft (thanks Pilli) and a German colonial style candle lamp (thanks Andi).

Style is an attitude!

(PS: For those who though and told us this lamp was a piece of sh** I have a couple of words for you: &^$&@#%&^%*&&$%@!!)

Speaking of our apartment, this is the view from our living room window during the day… and during the night….

    Hola Nachitito;

    I hope a year of living with Melissa hasn't made you insane. How are you?
    I was wondering if you could please write a little something about me for the alumni newsletter. We are putting a little bio of ourselves in the alumni newsletter and were asked to put a quote from an MC alumnus about each us. I was hoping that my quote could be from you. :)

    It does not have to be super long, a sentence or two will do. Sorry for the short notice - it's due tomorrow - eek.

    Thanks again
    Hope to hear from you soon!!!

  • :( I miss el palacio! I remember when it was empty as devrim's head!

    ...the blankets we "rescued" from the plane...the dividers rescued from the rubbishman...the wobbly table hehe...ahhh the view from the window

    ...and THAT lampshade (my aunty's! it actually started out in my room, then devrim finally realised that he needed some light in his 'hole' and it lived there until he killed the light haha). It looks much better in it's 3rd life! :D

    Nacho maybe you can be part time fashion/life/interior design consultant
