The end of the Myth

Someone had to do it, OK?!
What is so cute in that creepy baby anyway?. Seriously, what would you do if you saw a winged baby, carrying a knife and an insane smile in his face? You either RUN AWAY of try to stop him, right? (OK you might also try to catch it and exploit the little bastard in a circus as a FREAK, but you might also face some problems with those Child Protecting Organizations, so I would suggest you brainstorm a bit more before doing that, ok?)
So, coming back to our original thought: baby with a knife. If you stay because you think he is cute and you have this moment of weakness, he WILL stab you because he does not know what he is doing. Again HE DOES NOT KNOW WHAT HE IS DOING! He does not even know how to wipe his ass, for the great love of God!
Replace the knife for an arrow and a bow, and you will have Cupid (random question: is Cupid a Trade Mark? Does he have Copyrights?) Anyway, what makes you believe he DOES know what he is doing this time. He is the same thing, basically a crazy creepy baby with an insane smile in his face who takes advantage of people in their moment of weakness. (Can we all just say: SICK-O!)
Spend the day with your loved one.
The most romantic day of the year.
The day where two hearts become one.
Blah blah blah. Do people actually believe in this Valentine Day? Who was Valentine to begin with? Was he a cousin of Constantine? How did Valentine die?
What is love, anyway?.
It is defined as an intense emotional attachment, as for a person, pet or treasured object.
(WAH! Interesting lah!)
Who is Cupid?
Well, in Roman Mythology he is the God of Love, the Son of Venus. He is represented as a naked cherubic boy usually having wings and holding a bow and an arrow, used as a symbol of love. (FREAK FREAK FREAK!)
Anyway, Happy Valentine to all of those who have been sort of caught by this lovely flying sick-o. And for those who have not, just have fun today as well. HINT: there are lots of discounts in restaurants and shopping malls if you go with a partner. Just grab the first person you see by your side and go crazy on your Credit Card! At the end of the day, by definition THAT WOULD BE LOVE, TOO!
Love is in the air, everywhere I look around
Love is in the air, everyday and every night

All babies are cute! even ones with knives or bows and arrows...

ok you see Nach, right there is a classic example of child abuse. Giving a child a bow and arrow is encouraging children to fight no?

Naaz: Thanks for the confession. Although I hope your fiancee does not read my blog. I met him this past weekeend. He is crazy as usual... in a good way! :)
Teresita: Honey. As much as I would like to beleieve in what you sai we all have to admit there are certain babies that are BUTT ugly! Not you of course, you were a cute little POKKA!
Pilli: True. Child abuse I can consider a couple of samples:
- those parents that take their kids to the "SINGAPORE'S BRAINNIEST KID" TV competition. (AY DIOS MIO! NERDitos)
- giving your kid a "mullet"
- dressing your kid with plad over plad (that will give the idea that it is a great combination when it is one o f the biggest NO-NO in fashion)
I cannot think of any other child abuse now these are pretty bad though)

To be honest, though i hate to say this, I share the same sentiments.
Its always the extreme opposites or the unthinkable elements being put together that gives the
combination that is more shocking. So putting innocent looking babies and life endangering weapons, it is freaky. Just think Chucky.
Its the same with being devastingly sad yet looking happy, its really quite sad in truth.

WAH! Deep, deep thought Ying.
By the way, you should blog the pic when YOU were a little girl. QUITE cute, like Teresa! :)
(No pony tails though)

I say: bust Cupid's a**. You could get him on all sorts of counts: indecent exposure, public lewndess, trespassing airspace, carrying a weapon and a whole host of other weapons charges, intent to cause bodily harm, public nuisance...
...btw, I hope you had a great V Day :)

Chris, at February 15, 2005 1:54 PM
Ying you still look like a baby boy... and my eyes are bigger than yours. Damn right, they're bigger than yours. :)

Devrim, at February 15, 2005 2:00 PM
Chris Im with you on this one! and besides, what kind of child goes around brandishing weapons and shooting through people's hearts? Somebody tame that child!
By
pilli, at February 15, 2005 6:30 PM
Thanks Pilli :)
Maybe Cupid is the victim of poor parenting, though. I mean, what kind of parents don't even put nappies on their kid? Maybe they gave him the bow and arrow to hunt wild animals and make his own loincloth from furs :-o

ANTI VALENTINES QUOTES
"We fall in love when our imagination projects nonexistent perfection upon another person. One day, the fantasy evaporates and with it, love dies."
-- Spanish philosopher Jose Ortega y Gasset
"Love is exclusivity, selection."
-- Jose Ortega y Gasset
"I believe in love...but not romance"
-- Me
"Nobody loves me/it's true"
-- Portishead
"I can't make you love me, if you don't"
-- Bonnie Raitt
"I love you, but I'm not in love with you."
-- Heard a million times

I think it's better to give to a baby boy a rifle or sword toy rather than giving a pink teddy bear. He will grow up with the feeling of being a soldier, a fighter, a protector.
For Valentine's day; then it's pure commercial event. It doesn't make sense to have special date for lovers, for those who love, they can turn any day to Valentine's day. No need to wait this day and pay big amount of money for a bouquet of flowers.
