Turning the lights off.

...almost everything comes to an end. It has been a while since I last posted a comment on this blog and it seems I will not be posting any new comments anytime soon. On that note, I have decided to suspend this blog indefinitely.

I would like to sincerely thank all loyal readers who once followed my stories and adventures. I hope you had as much fun reading as I had writing and hope our e-lives cross again... FaceBook, LinkedIn or e-lsewhere.

Thanks again, have fun and take care!

A quick one...

¡Hola blogueritos!

It has been forever since I last posted a comment in here and I have FaceBook to blame for it. What is that all about?. Now people do not send you emails as they used to, they POKE you instead! And when you receive a POKE you just feel like going and poking them back right in their eyes. Poking... P-O-K-I-N-G… send me a friggin’ email instead, tell me more about you not about the new little programmes you installed and who your SuperFriends are. Who are you to have SuperFriends anyway… WonderWoman… AcquaMan… The Flash?

Rawa - September 9 2007

Anyway, just came back this weekend from Rawa. Yes, the same old Rawa we used to go and I vividly reported in some previous postings. Rawa September 8-9

Very nice weekend with friends, relaxing on the beach, good food and most importantly my new best friend: SPF 60. YES! I found the cure to my redness whenever I expose myself to the sun for more than 20 minutes. It is called SPF 60!

Some highlights of this trip.

¡FELIZ DIA DEL AMIGO!

Feliz dia Amigos

Día del Amigo (Spanish, Friend's Day) is a celebration of friendship, held annually on July 20 , mainly in Argentina and Uruguay , but also in some other countries. In my country is a HUGE celebration. You get your friends together, cook, drink, have fun with games, stories, remembering older times, lovely gathering!

The idea for Friend's Day goes back to Argentine teacher, musician, and dentist Enrique Febbraro, who lobbied to turn the anniversary of the first moon landing into an international day of friendship. He argued that on this particular day, the whole world had been friends of the three astronauts. The first official recognition of the day came with decree No. 235/79 by the government of the province of Buenos Aires, which authorized the celebration and gave it official nature.

In Argentina, Friend's Day is often a good excuse for a common friendly gathering, though people also employ the day to get in contact with old and seldom-met friends and greet them. Since it is not a public holiday in Argentina , the gatherings tend to happen during the evening. It's also a common custom to give presents to your close friends as a sign of friendship.

Though Friend's Day has always been respected, in recent years it has turned into a very popular mass phenomenon. In 2005, too many well-wishing friends led to a temporary breakdown of the mobile phone network in the cities of Buenos Aires , Córdoba and Rosario, comparable to the one experienced in 2004 on Christmas and New Year's Day. It is always reported seats in most restaurants, bars and other establishments are always booked completely a week before the celebration.

A mis amigos en Argentina les mando un abrazo gigante y les digo que se los extraña bastante por estas tierras...

¡Salud, Amigos!
¡FELIZ DIA!!

A weekend in Paradise.

Nothing can top a weekend with friends in a paradisiacal island lost somewhere in Asia. An island where the biggest preoccupations of the day are whether to go snorkeling, having another pina colada or sunbathing. There are many of these islands in Malaysia, we just chose RAWA, an old times favrourite of this group of friends-ex colleagues.

Not much to say but "IT WAS AWESOME!" It was really chill, sunny, playful and overall a great way of unplugging from reality for a while and touch base with Mother Nature again.

Here are some of the pictures. Enjoy!

God intended life to be this way.

One more sleep... only one more!

One more sleep and we are on our way!... a great mini weekend with friends under the sun.

It has been almost 3 years since I last visited this paradise on Earth. Simple, inexpensive yet with a very alluring charm: RAWA, in Malaysia.

AH! Cannot wait... cannot.
